Sadly, that is not the only accident of the day. A few hours later, we were playing hide and go seek. He ran and hid around the side of my bed. I was crawling on the floor toward him, and he heard that I was getting close, so he decided to pop out and scare me. When he did that, he hit his mouth on the foot board and again, we had a bloody mouth to clean up and inspect for damage. As far as I can tell his mouth seems to be OK, thank goodness! But I just could not believe that it happened twice in one day. I know that accidents are to be expected with kids, especially around this age, but I really wish that they just didn't happen! They are no fun! But we survived today, hopefully tomorrow will be better.
On a more positive note, he is just growing up so fast, and of course full of fun little moments. He is catching on to quite a few new words. This last week he has started to say...
"sauce" - that is to let me know that he wants apple sauce.
"wawa" -that means water, and he says it as he does the sign language for it.
"poopy" -self explanatory
"cracka"- that is cracker. He's almost got it down, and he also does the sign as he says it.
He has quite a few words now, and it seems like there is a new one just about every day now. At least once a day he mimics something that I say. It is really fun to have him try the new words.
One of his favorites that he has had for a while is "cookie." He is quite the little cookie monster. It is his first word every morning, and all day long he walks around the house saying, "cookie... cookie" He'll also stand at the pantry door and knock on it until I give in and give him one.
Words are not the only thing he mimics. One morning at breakfast, Robert buttered some toast and put it on my plate. Well Colton was in the cupboard playing with a big wooden spoon, so he comes over and tries to butter my toast with it. Also, I guess he has seen me on the phone one to many times, because he was walking around the house with it just chatting away and laughing. Robert asked him who he was talking to and clear as day he answered "Grandma", it was really cute. He just likes to do what he sees everyone else do. The other day Robert was walking with him, and started to march, so he started to march. We were watching TV, and the actor was waving his arms yelling, so Colton decided that he needed to do that as well. The list goes on and on. I just can not believe how he seems to be catching on to everything all of a sudden. I guess we've entered into a new phase.

He is also becoming quite a little daddy's boy. The other day we were going to meet up with Robert, and I told him as I was loading him in the car that we were going to take a car ride to see daddy. Maybe that was a mistake because after a little while he kept shouting, "Yaaay, Daddy! Yaaay, Daddy!" It was so cute, I wish that Robert could have heard him. He was so excited to see him.
There is never a dull moment with Colton around and I wouldn't have it any other way!
Here are some recent pics of our little man!

Angie, he is so cute and getting so big. Don't beat yourself up about the mishaps. You are a great mom and those things happen to everyone!
