Well, it has been a while since my last post! Time flies when you are having fun, and taking care of a baby! Lots has happened in the past few months. Colton Robert Darger made his grand entrance to this world on Saturday, December 22, 2007, just in time for Christmas! He arrived at 9:48 a.m., weighing 7 lbs. 4oz., and 20½” long. Everyone was anxious for his arrival, especially his mom! He was due on December 16, but decided to keep us in suspense for a few extra days. When the doctors decided it was time for him to come, I think he disagreed and wanted to stay inside mom for a little while longer, because it took some time getting him here. I was induced at about 1:00 p.m. on December 21st and after about 20 hours of trying; they decided to deliver him by C-Section the next morning. Even though it took him a long time to get here, he was well worth the wait.
After he was delivered, he was taken down to the nursery to get his first bath. Robert was there, along with Grandma and Grandpa Whetstone to see the exciting event. It wasn’t too long before the nurses brought him to us in a Christmas stocking! Right away we could tell that he was a calm baby. He loves to be held. He especially loves to cuddle up on your chest. He is very alert, and loves to lift his head and take a look at the world around him. He pulls the cutest faces. One of our favorites is when he makes a tiny little “o” shape with his mouth; another one is when he sticks out his tongue. He also likes to suck on his hands. He is also very strong. He lifts up his head, rolls to his side, and pushes away from you with his feet. He is just such a strong baby!
He has been really fun lately, he is constantly moving his arms and kicking, like he is dancing. Also, he has been smiling and giggling the past month or so. It's been really fun.

His diaper changes have been fun to, believe it or not...we've had a few little experiences with them already. Robert was changing a poopy diaper, and wiping his cute little bum, when all of a sudden, some more poop came flying out. I’m not just saying he pooped, I mean that poop really flew! It was hilarious. Also, we have both gotten a shower from him more than once! I guess those are just a couple of the perks that come with a little baby boy!
Colton has already had quite a few firsts. He had his first Christmas, complete with a Santa outfit and Christmas pajamas. Also, Grandma Whetstone has come over a few times to help out, and she gave him his first bath at home. He has even had his first sleepover ant Grandma’s. Thank goodness for Grandmas! He has also had his first Dr. appointment already, and was such a brave little man!
Even though things have been a little overwhelming lately, and even though we don’t’ get much sleep these days, we are still so happy to have this cute little baby boy! We know that he is a little blessing from heaven, and we are so lucky to have him!

He is so cute! We are glad there are pictures to see--he's grown so much already! The kids particularly liked the story of Robert changing the poopy diaper. We're excited to see you all soon!
