I know what you are thinking...miracles do happen and it came in the form of a new post! Since it has been a while, I'll give a quick rundown of the highlights over the past months. Well Colton is just growing up so quickly, I guess they do that. On June 1st we had his baby blessing. We thought that we better get it done before he could walk up to the front of the chapel himself. He also said his first word on that day, dada.

Until next time...hopefully it won't be another 5 months!!!

A few days later he started rolling over from his tummy to his back, and not too long after that he could sit up by himself.

The next month we were busy with the 4th of July fun! On the 3rd, Colton went to his first rodeo with the Whetstone clan. I think he had some mixed feelings about the whole thing. He seemed to like being outside every now and again, but I'm not so sure he liked the heat, the crowd, or the noise. Add tired on top of that, and we really didn't have a happy baby. But it was fun, I especially liked the mutton bustin. Maybe we will put Colton in that a few years from now, that could be entertaining!

Then for the 4th, we drove down to Fillmore for a BBQ with Robert's family. To keep the kids entertained throughout the day, Robert's sisters set up a kiddie pool. Well Robert took Colton over there for his first dip in the pool, as he dipped his little toes in the water, he let out a big screeching MAMA! Yep, he didn't like it and was calling out to me for help! That was the very first time we heard that come out of Colton's mouth. I of course was flattered, however we didn't hear him say it again for about another month and a half. But the whole day was a bunch of fun. And then there was the firework show. Who would have guessed that such a small town could put on such a show. They really do have the best I've seen. It was so good this year that they caught the parking lot on fire, seriously. The finale had such big fireworks, and they were a little low, that the weeds in and around the parking lot caught on fire. It was pretty short lived, but note worthy.

Later that month, we took Colton on his first camping trip. He loved it! He loved being outside, he loved the campfire, he loved the nature walks. He was just a little trooper! We even took a long bumpy ride to play in the Duschene River. And of course he loved that too. I on the other hand was not a fan of the off road adventure to get to the river, but once we got there it was worth it. (Even though i was hit in the back of the head with a rock while I was standing in the river with Colton.) All in all, it was a great time!

Then of course there have been the BYU games. It has been fun tailgating and watching the games. Although I think Colton takes after me right now as far football goes, our favorite part is the tailgate party. I'm sure that will change over time.

Lately, Colton has really been on the move. He's been scooching backwards for a while now, and just the last week or so, he has started to army crawl and pull himself up on the furniture. And as you can see he is interested in just about everything except for toys!
Well, that is most of the big stuff, now on to the everyday stuff. He is still just as cuddly as ever. He is a good little eater. He loves to play with his toys. He also likes to play games with mom and dad like mimicking noises, especially growling. He rough houses by giving soft little head butts, and burying his head into your shoulder. He also likes to dance with mommy, and he even raises his voice with the music like he is singing, it is really cute. He loves to go on walks, but i think his favorite time is bath time. Once he sees water in the tub he practically jumps out of our arms and into the tub. My favorite time is bed time when we read stories and say good night. It is just so fun, we love it.

As far as Robert and I go... Robert has been keeping busy, but still manages to get a little golf in every now and again. And I have started a new hobby baking cakes. September kept me busy with three birthday parties. It is nice to be on a little break. They are not the greates looking cakes, but I have fun. Tha's all that matters. (I'm missing the picture of Erica's cake, I'll have to show hers later.)
Until next time...hopefully it won't be another 5 months!!!
