Although I know Colton doesn't realize that today is different from any other day, I still wanted to make his first Halloween fun! So, in the morning we met up with the Jones family at Gardner Village to go on a witch hunt. They met us in the parking lot and boy were they cute! They were decked out in there costumes already. We had a witch, a jedi, and an astronaut join our little monster. The weather was just beautiful today, perfect for a witch hunt. The Jones kids are quite the little hunters. They found every witch and were able to get there 25 cent cookies from the bakery as a prize. Colton wasn't really looking for the witches, but he liked being out and about in his stroller. And of course he is such a little observer that I know he loved looking around at all the people with their fun costumes, and at all the decorations and displays that Gardner Village had. But he wasn't doing all the looking, there were lots of people looking at him too. I heard a few kids say, "Look, it's Frankenstein" and a some ladies told me how cute he was. It was a good time for all!

After Gardner Village we picked up a quick bite to eat, and then it was off to Grandma and Grandpa Whetstone's for some early trick-or-treating and to show off the costumes. Grandma and Grandpa had some spooky music playing when we got there. Maybe it was an attempt to keep us away, but it did not work. We all invaded their house anyway, and had lots of fun playing around. Colton was really cute while we were there, especially with Grandpa Whetstone. I was trying to get a picture of grandma, grandpa and Colton, but he would not stop looking at grandpa. Then grandma said, "give him a hug" and without hesitation, he gave him a tight squeeze around the neck. It was really cute! Although it was fun over there, we couldn't stay too long because we wanted to visit Grandpa Garahana before Kelli had to make her way back. So we headed out, but not without the cute goody bags Grandma had made for everyone, how nice.

Well we made our way to Grandpa Garahana's, and as always he really knows how to take care of us. Right when we walked in he was offering us candy, cookies, and all sorts of goodies. Everyone had a good time there, especially Colton. Grandpa played patty cake with him, sang him songs, let him play on the furniture, and crawl all over the place. It was nice to visit with him, but after a little while Colton startedto get pretty tired. He really had not taken a nap all day, so to avoid spoiling a fun little visit we packed him up in his car seat before he turned into an actual little monster!

Now we are at home just waiting for some trick-or-treaters. We have had three so far, and they have all taken a car to get up here. I'm not sure anybody really wants to make the long haul up to our house. It really is a steep hill, not to mention we are like the only house up here. Not really worth the trip. But anyway, Happy Halloween!
