Happy Thanksgiving!

This year we spent our Thanksgiving with Robert's family. It was fun to get to gether with everyone and catch up. Everyone contributed to the dinner and there was enough food to feed an army. I made icebox cake for dessert. Nobody can make it better then grandma, but I gave it my best shot! As you can see Colton was so full that he didn't just unbutton his pants, he had to take them off completely.
Happy Birthday Colton!!!

As you might have already figured out, we had a Sesame Street themed birthday party for Colton. It was completed by a Cookie Monster pinata, and a very scary Sesame Street Parade birthday cake. (it seemed like the more I tried to get it to look good, the worse it got, oh well.) As much as we tried to let him dig into the cake, he wasn't all that interested. I know Colton enjoyed the extra special attention he got that day, and he definately loved all the fun gifts!
Merry Christmas!!!

Christmas was fun this year! We went to Grandpa Garahana's house for the traditional Christmas Eve party. I can't believe how big the family has gotten. Lots of little ones running around excited for Santa to come. It is crazy to think that we were doing that excact same thing not too long ago, running around with the cousins and waiting to open gifts. Boy does time fly.Christmas morning was really fun. Colton didn't really get what was going on, but he sure had a good time sitting in his new sled and pulling the bows off the presents. Then we headed to the Jones' for a delicious Christmas Dinner. We also got to talk with Alex for a bit. It was a fun day.
Happy New Year!!!
Well New Years Eve was pretty low key. We were invited to our neighbors house for a little party/Wii Tournement. It was fun and we were able to bring Colton along. He actually stayed up with us to ring in the new year. But then it all went down hill when my over-tired little boy ran into the staircase and cut his head. Luckily it was not very deep or too bad, but it was still traumatic for him. I guess you can say we ended our night with a "bang".
Well, that was a quick rundown of the past few months. Nothing major has gone on recently, but there are a lot of little things. Colton hs been crawling since the end of October, and we are still waiting for him to take his first steps by himself. He loves to walk along the furniture and against the walls, and with his walker. When he first started to use his walker he hadn't figured out how to steer or turn, so he would always run into the walls. Everytime he did that he would yell at the top of his lungs, "MOM" for me to come and rescue him. But it didn't take him long to figure out how to navigate his way around the house without any collissions.
He also loves to watch his "Baby Signing Time" videos. He has caught onto a few of the signs. The first sign he did was "more". He actually signs that and looks at the TV, and that is his way of telling me that he wants to watch Signing Times. Now he can sign, "eat" "hat" "shoes" "all done" and "grandma". He also has become a fabulous waver. He waves at everything and everyone. We'll walk past our window and he'll wave to the outside. He sees a car and he waves. If anyone at church looks in our direction he is waving hello.
He is also saying a few words. His first word was "yeah". You could ask him a question and that was the answer. Then one morning a few days later he was in his crib and just talking away. Robert and I were listening through the moniter, and we heard, "yeah, what is that?" He pretty much says that all the time about anything he sees. Last week mom was watching him and he was playing with the plug outlet. She said "no no" and he turns around and says to her, "what?" Already starting with the attitiude. He also says "light" and "look". And he doesn't just say look, he grabs your chin and makes you look at what he is looking at.
And just last week he learned to go down the stairs. He already knew how to go up, but going down freaked him out a little bit. I guess he conquered his fears because that is how I spend a good part of my day playing on the stairs with him. When he is not playing on the stairs he spends his time tackling me and Robert, playing in my cupboards, roaming around the house from one toy to the next, and his favorite game...hide and go seek.
Well, I think that about covers it. Till next time...

Good job on the catch up! It is fun to see the pictures of the past few months and it is good to record some of these events. Keep up the good work!
